"If forever gets lonely..."

Ida is upon us. It has been cloudy all day, but the wind and rain and thunder began about 4 p.m. It comes an goes as these outermost rain bands sweep across north-central Alabama. We're going to be under a flash flood watch and wind advisory through Tuesday. It's currently only 75˚F, with no heat index. The high was 86˚F, with the heat index at 94˚F.

I get no cicadas for a couple of days.

I gave today over to mosasaurs, reading and writing about quadrates and such. I did a lot, but it does not make for interesting blogging for people who are mostly interested in me as an author of weird fiction.

I did listen to two of the stories in Houses Under the Sea - "The Thousand-and-Third Tale of Scheherazade" and "The Bone's Prayer." The former is interesting, but really on of my minor pieces. The latter is, I think, one of my better Rhode Island stories, and it got a much better reading in the audiobook than did "The Thousand-and-Third Tale of Scheherazade."

This afternoon, two more episodes of Nova, both from Season 46 - "Last B-24" and ""Volatile Earth: Volcano on the Brink."

Please have a look at the current eBay auctions. Thank you.

Last night, we watched the first two episodes of the Snowpiercer TV series. Great cast, and it looks pretty good, but the feel of the series is so radically different than the tone of the movie that I'm not sure it's going to work.
