We'd been worrying about Hurricane Henri, but it looks like Rhode Island has largely been spared, and that stuff about it being the worst hurricane to hit southern New England in the last thirty years, well, maybe not. Sun and clouds and a little thunder here today. Currently, it's 90˚F, and the heat index is 99˚F.
I almost didn't bother making a post for today. I upped my Gabepentin again last night, because the lower dose just wasn't working, so I was a zombie all day. Useless. I did manage a couple of emails, one to Ann VanderMeer and one to Ellen Datlow, but that was pretty much it.
At Trump's rally last night in Cullman, Alabama, he was booed by the assembled deplorables when he told people to get vaccinated. And loony Mo Brooks was booed when he said the 2020 election was a done deal and people needs to move on and think about 2022. So, there's the loyalty of idiots.
Last night, Kathryn and I saw Ilya Naishuller's Nobody (2021), with Bob Odenkirk (and Christopher Lloyd). It was thoroughly charming.
Happy birthday, Ray Bradbury. I hope, if you are anywhere, it's somewhere better than this backwater shithole of a planet.
