"And I've been putting out fire with gasoline."

At about 11:15 a.m, this morning, Kathryn and I got our second doses of the COVID-19 Pfizer vaccine. In two weeks, we'll be good to go.

The day began rainy, and I didn't sleep much last night, but as we were leaving Walgreen's the sun began to shine. We dropped by Piggly Wiggly (my first time in any market since last summer), and then headed back up Highland and over the mountain. The trees are in their full summer foliage now. The parks along Highland were beautiful. They never fail to bunch me in the gut, I spent so much of my twenties in them, especially Rushton Park. Most importantly, the agoraphobic anxiety I was feeling going Outside just a couple of months ago seems to gave vanished completely.

Yesterday's comfort movie was J. J. Abrams' Star Trek (2009), which I will still argue is the best Star Trek film ever made. It hadn't even been very long since the last time I'd seen it, but the night before Chistopher Wilde and I were talking about the influence of Farscape on the Abrams' Star Trek, and one thing led to another.

For dinner, I had dinosaur-shaped chicken nuggets (I love these things), rice, and some really unchewably woody artichoke pickles.

We made it to 80˚F today, and there were a few thunderstorms this afternoon, in between the sun.

Last night, we watched the first four episodes of Hannibal and were serenaded by a pair a barred owls.

I got a little work done on the cave matrix today. Huzzah.

Yes, yes, yes we had to make do with flu Bands-Aids. You'd think COVID-19 would warrant it's own commemorative Band-Aid.
