Before 1995

Yeah, so...the internet went out about eleven thirty last night and was out until about noon. That was fun. But look! I'm back! You never even knew I was gone! The weather? Well, after the insanity of yesterday, today was mostly just clouds. And our high today was 63˚F, and now it is 51˚F.

Toady, my grand accomplishment was finishing The Bloody Chamber by Angela Carter (for the umpteenth time), by making it through "The Werewolf," "The Company of Wolves," and "Wolf Alice." The Bloody Chamber is surely one of the most important things I ever have in my life read, and certainly as regards my own work.

Speaking of which, I learned tonight - entirely by accident - that a book titled Caitlín R. Kiernan: A Critical Study of Her Work, written by James Goho, will be released on August 9th. It's news to me. Or maybe I was told and forgot. Both things are possible.

As of tonight, the ADPH has confirmed 3,803 cases of Covid-19 in Alabama, with 617 cases in Jefferson County and 230 cases in Shelby County.
