"And some day I'll up and fly..."

A sunny warm day. Our high was 84˚F. Currently it's 72˚F. We ran the AC (briefly) for the first time this year.

Happy birthday to Jada, my oldest friend and surely one of my most dearest. I met her in the late summer or autumn of 1978, almost forty-two years ago. I knew her when I was a kid of fourteen living in that dilapidated old house by the cement plant in Leeds, and now I am fifty-six, a couple of lifetimes later, and I am grateful she's still here.

I'm considering placing the LJ on hiatus until the worst of the Covid-19 crisis has passed. Or maybe restricting posts to photographs only. Maybe that will help me concentrate on work. And no one needs a daily tally from me of the effects of the virus on Alabama.

That said, Alabama now has 627 confirmed cases and three deaths, with 179 cases in Jefferson County and 69 in Shelby County. Gov. Kay Ivey has reversed herself and issued orders closing many businesses statewide, though she has yet to order a statewide shelter-in-place order. She says she's leaving that to the mayors. Yeah, that'll work.

I'm very, very tired.

Later,
Aunt Beast
