"Oh, everybody works just like a slave, all for the softest coffin that they made."

Some sun today. Currently it's 66˚F. Our high was 76˚F.

No writing today. I'm aiming for Friday, as I try to settle the chaos in my mind. I have forbid myself to follow any news pertaining to Covid-19. Kathryn and I have done everything we can, and it does me no good to watch this all unfold.

Today we (mostly Kathryn) made a truly delicious corned-beef brisket in the slow cooker, with cabbage and and onions. And a big pot of boiled potatoes. And Guinness. And I hung my trídhathach na hÉireann in a window, as I do every year. So, we had a more than decent St. Patrick's Day. By the way, the recipe we use for corned beef and cabbage, if anyone is ever interested, can be found in Alison Armstrong's The Joyce of Cooking: Food & Drink of James Joyce’s Dublin (Station Hill Press, 1986), one of my favorite cookbooks. I've been using that recipe almost every year since 1993.

Tonight we watched the new episode of Better Call Saul, finished Season Three of Vikings and began Season 4(i.e., 401).

TTFN,
Beithíoch Aintín
