Howard Hughes, Groggy and Disoriented

The best sleep I've had in days. All I had to do was get deliriously exhausted. I feel asleep to King Kong (1933), and I awoke to mountains in billowing clouds and mist, high in the Shenandoah Valley. I could maybe live here. We have to get on the road almost immediately, so that we can get into Providence at a decent-ish hour tonight, but this first.

It's only 54˚F out there.

Day before yesterday, we spent part of the day wandering about Leeds, taking photographs, and then there were hamburgers for lunch from Jack's, and then we visited with my Aunt Joanne Cage. And then I spent two hours scanning old family photos, and we had barbecue one more time. And packed. Packing to go home is a solemn affair when you're on a trip you do not want to ever end.

And then there was yesterday, which was all clouds and Appalachian fields and then torrential rain and semi-trailer trucks and slick, winding roads.

And this is today. See you in Rhode Island.

Later Taters,
Aunt Beast
