"Darling, remember from when you come to me that I'm the pretender..."

I swear to fuck, I brought the Providence weather with me. Last week, Leeds had highs in the 90s˚F. Right now, it's 54˚F here, with a windchill making it feel like 51˚F, with clouds and rain that make me want to go back to bed and hide. We're promised warmer, drier weather for tomorrow afternoon, but we were promised warmer drier weather for this afternoon, too.

Yesterday, I sorted through a box of old papers, pulling out more of my stuff for the John Hay Library. I even found a couple of high-school period poems of which I am not entirely ashamed. I also sorted out an enormous number of short-story manuscripts that my mom wrote in 1970s and 1980s. Kathryn and I read over "In the Flat Field," and it's better than I thought it was, but I didn't write anything new on it.

I had an entry I wanted to make this morning, but this shitty weather has me down. I'll try to write it tomorrow. I will leave you, instead, with this photo of Taco Cat, who is a palindrome.
