Howard Hughes and the Recurring Deep Freeze

Mar 11, 2017 11:21

We got snow yesterday. Almost all day. So we got...some inches. It's still here today. Currently, it's 17˚F in Providence, with the windchill at -3˚F. And we have a huge storm that may be headed our way.

Yesterday, after a trip through the snow to the post office on Thayer Street, Spooky and I read through Chapter One of Interstate Love Song again. And then I proofread "Objects in the Mirror," which will be appearing in the Subterranean Press anthology The Weight of Words. Today, I have to make a trip out into the cold to go to the pharmacy, and then I have to type up the corrections to both Chapter One and "Objects in the Mirror." Either today or tomorrow I will begin work on Chapter Two of the novel.

Yesterday, Spooky made fabulous black-eyed peas, and last night I had very good RP with an RP acquaintance in Oklahoma.

And here is a piece of news to all those who have wondered: Josh Boone and Mid-World Productions have passed on renewing their option on The Red Tree and The Drowning Girl, which expired this month (or last, I'm unsure). I am grateful to Josh, who has been, and continues to be, immensely supportive of my work, and he and I still hope to someday bring my fiction to the screen. Sometimes, things just don't work out. Meanwhile, I have been approached by another production company and will be meeting with them next week. I'll post details if and when I have them and may.

Today is my mom's birthday, and I wish I were there in Leeds to celebrate it with her.

Here are the photos I promised from Thursday night at the Savoy in Westerly. I'll post photos of yesterday's snow in tomorrow's entry.
