"Nickels and dimes of the Fourth of July roll off in a crooked line."

Sunny today. It's currently 63˚F. I have the office window open.

Yesterday was probably my worst day since the election. My numbness melted back into horror and anger and sorrow, and I likely made an ass of myself on Facebook. But as the world falls apart around me that's probably the very least of my problems. Many people seem to be laboring under the delusion that normal, day-to-day things still have all their old meanings and significance. I'm not.

"The Death of Compassion" was actually a trending topic or hashtag or whatever yesterday on Twitter.

Here. I will say something "normal." I will say that Season Two of The Expanse is even better than Season One. Last night's episode, "Home," was beautiful and brilliant and sad. It was one of the best hours of SF that, I suspect, has ever been on television.
