"But can't you see? Maybe you were the ocean when I was just a stone."

The snow began again last night, and we have maybe three fresh inches. And it's still falling. Every now and then, a tree will drop everything that's piled atop its branches and a miniature blizzard sweeps past the windows. And there are no snowplows or cars, no exhaust pipes or sand, to ruin it.

There's not a hell of a lot to report. I'm very behind on Sirenia Digest #108, which pretty much followed from behind very behind on Sirenia Digest #107. I'm writing something new, and it needs to come more quickly than it is. Because I should be doing three or four pages a day on the screenplay. I'm talking with Centipede Press about the artists for Houses Under the Sea: Mythos Tales. And...stuff. There's always far too much stuff. And when I finally shove the stuff aside, the words are reluctant.

Now I’ve been crazy, couldn’t you tell?
I threw stones at the stars, but the whole sky fell. ~ Gregory Alan Isakov

The snow's distracting.

We had walk yesterday, the first time I've left the cabin (not the Cabin) since we arrived on Monday. Marco the Tiny Black Cat followed us through the trees to a frozen pond, its crystallized waters hidden below the snow. We spotted the tracks of rabbits, deer, squirrel, and what was likely a coyote. We heard what was almost certainly a pileated woodpecker (Hylatomus pileatus). The sun was bright, but shortly after we made it back dark snow clouds rolled in again. I was going to post photos, but I didn't really have time to edit them this morning. I'll put some up tomorrow.

Hubero really loves it here. Selwyn's not so sure.
