As you might have noticed in all of the new entries in my journal, I specifically avoid talking directly to people in my journal entries.
History&Origin
This was one of my resolutions for making a new journal. I felt that when I would directly address people openly in journal entries, or look for direct feedback, I would draw that person's undivided attention and thus the rest of my entry would be spent desensitizing the thoughts I needed to get out the most, due to fear of judgment or how what I said might be taken. Eventually, my whole journal was desensitized of true emotions or any shred of possible controversy; it was completely void of true journaling characteristics. Thus, it was rendered useless and a new journaling era arose from the ashes.
Definition&Meaning
I am not afraid to post anything at this point. I do mention people in my life, and of course even you all, as well. I do mention my unguarded opinions of people, actions, and events, but only after careful consideration and with as much respect as possible. However, even would I offend anyone with what I would say, I do not feel obligated to make the specifically "offensive" post or future posts more sensitive to accomodate that person's needs. I doubt I'll offend anyone that much, but if it would be that problematic to any of the readers and viewers of this journal, remove me from your friends list. Save us both the trouble.
Function&Purpose
The function and purpose of this journal is to help me evaluate my emotions and thoughts, become confident in my opinion and myself, and to maintain a healthy and steady outflow of creativity. That's it, there is nothing else. Nothing subliminal. No subliminal attacks. No hidden agenda.
Note&Clarity
I also am not implying anyone is stupid or journalling wrong for directly mentioning and interacting with people in journaling. I don't care. I personally am very sensitive and cannot handle even the slightest hint of an opinion that would hinder someone else. This is a tool to help me overcome that, as well as many other issues.
Subject&Category
So, my journal entries are only from my perspective and reflection. Instead of doing Livejournal shout outs, I will most likely be finding other ways to contact you all. If I do need to make an LJ shout out, it'll be in a separate entry labelled Announcement or Discussion and then the subject. With discussion, if there is a specific opinion or open forum I'd like to receive from you guys, which I do pretty often, the entry will have the mentioned Discussion title and won't have any limitations on who or what I talk about.
Interaction&Feedback
As always, regardless of the entry type, please feel free to comment about anything and everything in whatever manner you want. I'm not attempting to limit how people interact with me, just how I, personally, interact with my journal. While I do want to be able to use this as a journal was originally intended, I wouldn't share it with all of you if I didn't want you to know or if I minded your input. If that would be the case, I am fully aware and completely capable of utilizing the Private Entry and the Disable Comments features.
Closing&Finale
This statement is to serve as the first and last selfless entry created with intention to provide clarity and prevent unnecessary ambiguity and misunderstandings to those that read and interact with this journal.
Thus far, this I'm happy in reporting that this journaling style has proved refreshing and successful.
Thank you,
The Journalist.
