So much to catch up on...

Yule
Monday, Dec. 21. I had cleared arriving to work late in order to celebrate the sunrise. Met up with friends at Fireman's Park and waited until the appropriate time... too cloudy to see the sunrise, once again. :(
Afterwards we had a nice breakfast at Shakabrah Java. Only to receive a phone call from work claiming they didn't know about my taking some time off. From that point on, my day pretty much sucked. :(

Christmas Eve
It was unexpectedly a half day at work. I swung by a sushi restaurant for lunch and made my way home. :)

Christmas
Things went a little better than I thought it would. There was no fighting or even real bickering between the family at my mom's house. :)

Day after Christmas
My car's crankcase vent hose broke and we were unable to find a replacement. My mechanic says my car will run perfectly fine without it, and he'll give me a call when the part comes in... I'm still waiting for that call. :(
My mother-in-law proceeds to stay at our place for the entire weekend... even though she only lives a few minutes away. :(

Day before New Year's Eve
My dad really pissed me off. Why does he continue to spout bullshit without bothering to check facts? :(

New Year's Eve
Unexpectedly only worked a half day today. :)
Honestly the most disappointing event of the year. We went out to First Night. Somehow Christianity hijacked the entire event. It is supposed to be a family friendly event celebrating the arts, not an hours long, city sponsored, Christ-fest. Sorely disappointed in my New Year's tradition being invading by preachiness. :( :( :(
Went home and passed out.

New Year's Day
Kat and decided we were going to have a take two on the festivities. So we headed out and had a great time spending the entire day together. We even saw Sherlock Holmes. I'm very satisfied with it and hope for sequels! :) :)
We got home and things took a sour turn with miscommunication. :(

... And I do believe that brings us up to date. So to recap, we have a score of five happy faces and nine sad faces. I hope this isn't going to be trend as we head forward into next year.
