Spent most of yesterday waiting for a thunderstorm that never arrived. Thankfully today seems marginally less muggy, although I'm still pleased to have my little office tucked away in the coolest part of the building.
Jess isn't very well at the moment. He had a cough which made him sick on Monday night; last night he was sick three times in his sleep without coughing. Not much fun; the evening seemed to pass in a blur of changing sheets and clothes. He didn't know what to do with himself - watching on the camera he spent the whole night repeating a pattern of shuffling around the bed, sitting up, holding his head, lying down. He's got an "ill cry" as well, a sort of high-pitched, wretched mewl that I've not heard before. He seems better this morning though, thankfully. Hopefully he'll throw this off before the w/e, as we're going up for a family get-together in Derbyshire.
Work is ramping up again. I forsee things are going to get very, very busy shortly - the other trainee in my dept qualifies on Friday, and they've decided not to keep him on. All his cases are coming my way. We're also about the lose one of the two Accounts dept, who goes on Maternity Leave shortly. Her duties have also been handed to us, so I am currently wrestling with learning all of that. I've kept quiet about the fact I failed my Accounts exam first time around on the LPC. What could possibly go wrong?
Right, enough procrastinating. On with it!
