This week...
has much in the rawked for me creatively. Granted as most know, game is what creams my creative twinkie but the fact is that things have been just pouring out of me lately. Admittedly I suspect that the passing of alot of my angst has had alot to do with it, which is odd because I like angst in my creativity. But, being able to explore other aspects besides angst is interesting. I can honestly say though that, I have a great many muses of late that helped me quite a bit in these endeavors. Say what you will about roleplayers, but the ones in my group are some of the greatest and most creative I've ever known. And alot of my sanity was retained through some pretty dark times, and I attribute that to them. I feel that as an amateur writer my ability is growing, through some of they're influences and I've reached to expand myself beyond the rather drab fare I was used to in roleplaying.
Yes, I'll admit that my geekness astounds and that it is bogus and sad that I am as much of a roleplayer as I am. But, I work for a living, I pay my bills, I've kissed girls(and one or two guys), I've had sex many times(and many ways. Sorry, the memories are fond.)and I don't live in my parents basement and haven't since I was a kid. So take your snobbery and stereotyping, put them in a most uncomfortable place(like the backseat of a Volkswagon?) and twist. If that doesn't do it for you, remove and repeat. This is what I do, its part of my social interaction, and the people I do it with Roxor my socks so bugger you if you don't like it.
Let me shout out real quick to the people who inspire me creatively, some of them aren't on here and will never see it. But its a respect thing.
My best bud/lil Sis/partner in crime/wingperson Robin. Thanks for showing me what I searched for in roleplaying games for years. Depth, Drama, Story, and character development.
Branden the Big B. Your games have allowed me to explore more than just hack n slash, pointlessness and cardboard characters and make roleplaying fun for me again.
Beans Your take on any roleplaying situation is much like your views on life, unique and you were always the voice of sanity when the meta gaming and twinkdom was out of control. Glad we found a group that gives all that we wanted from games and could never find.
Lastly and newly, Ashley. The few things, I've seen and read I've dug, your far more creative than your short years would lead one to expect (But what do I know? I'm old.) and I look forward to hopefully working with you on more creative endeavors in the future and seeing where you go with your writing and creativity.
