The other night, I watched Dean Spanley which was an interesting little movie. The cast was led by Peter O'Toole and Jeremy Northam, the former causing constant hilarity with his goggle-eyed expressions and dry English phrases, while the latter astonishing me with the similarity of his face to that of Jason Isaacs. At times, he looked so like him, ( Read more... )

Oh, and by the way - Northam and Isaacs have the same soft spoken quality to their voices. Like silk over steel. Me liiiike! 8-)

What a coincidence! One of my WIP Harry Potter fanfics that I really need to finish is called 'Silk and Steel' as it's to do with Lucius. Isaacs' voice (as well as Northam's) is heavenly to listen to. A bit like RA's, but a bit different. :)

Nothing beats RA's voice! One of his many fabulous attributes... Seriously, that man is well endowed! 8-)

I can recommend Jeremy Northam! He's doing well where ever he turns up! But two special recommendations:

1. The Winslow Boy! Helluva good film!!
2. Possession. Gaaaaahhhh...

He's been in period costume A LOT, that man! :-) But he was a hacker in a film with Sandra Bullock, The Net. Not bad at all! :-)

Though I actually prefered the Emma-version with Mark Strong as Mr Knightley and Kate Beckinsale as Emma. It was written by Andrew Davies, a real period drama writer-guru. 8-)

Oh, Mark Strong... *purrs*

He's another one of my favourites. In fact, him as Septimus in Stardust reminds me a bit of Guy. They both wear the long, black trenchcoats and gallop about on horses looking terribly gallant and deliciously ruthless.

*goes off on one*

I think I need to do some research on Northam and Emma (both versions).

One can never spend too much time on research, it is very important. *looks terriby serious*

Your comparison between Septimus and Guy - sooo true! Loved him there, of course. *swwwwooooooon*
