TV Review- Mon. 11/23 - Sat. 11/28

Dec 01, 2009 21:46

I'm bored so I am going to review all the new tv I watched last week... We'll see how much I remember. Ratings are out of 10 stars.

Monday ,11/23
The Big Bang Theory- "Sheldon vows payback after Kripke humiliates him on the radio. Howard gets advice concerning his relationship with Bernadette...from "Battlestar Galactica's" Katee Sackhoff." I don't remember much about this episode, except that I found Sheldon's revenge against Kripke hysterical (the reason behind his odd lisp still illudes me) and that I wanted poor, unattractive Howard to suck it up and get in a relationship. His song at the end was hysterically. However, the episode before this is by far my favorite of the season, "The Adhesive Duck Deficiency." 7 Stars.

Castle- "When a murdered man is found stuffed in the garbage chute of an apartment building and two women arrive to ID his body -- one his wife and the other his fiance -- Castle and Beckett have their hands full keeping the women from killing each other as they work to peel back the layers of the victim's double life. Was it a jilted woman, corporate espionage, or a much darker secret that led to his demise?" All I remember about this one is that I thought it was a lame and contrite plot line. Also, I still can't decide if I like Alexis or not. The end was sweet when she gave the relative back the book of pictures, but I don't know about the rest of her plot line. I honestly don't remember how this mystery ended, I rarely do. I mainly watch for Nathan Fillion and the Castle/Beckett dynamic. 5 Stars.

Tuesday, 11/24
V: The Series- I won't bother pasting the summary from IMDB because it's extremely long. Here, I'll tell you what happened.. Umm Anna gave them all Bliss? Tyler meets Anna? Lisa looked pretty? Erica, Jack, and Ryan ran around, trying to blow something up? Yeah, I paid very little attention. I can't seem to find the desire to care about this show in the slightest. Plus, that was the finale until March to make way for the strange new Scrubs season. So... whatever.

Wednesday, 11/25
Glee- "Concerned that Sue is up to no good, Will pays a visit to an instructor of a competing Glee Club to see what information Sue may be leaking, which leads to the club getting a look at their hair-rising competition. Meanwhile, Kurt gives Rachel a makeover to impress Finn, but he may have ulterior motives." Kind of a strange plot. Inviting over Glee clubs to your school for a "scrimage"? I wasn't a big fan of the Bootylicious girl , or their Hairography. Not a great song collection in this episode, except for Imagine, which I am listening to. That was a beautiful scene and a great rendition. It made me want to cry! Another great song was Papa Don't Preach. Really not a big Quinn fan, probably due to the fact that her first solo song (Keep Me Hanging On) was so horrendously awful. But PDP was very good, and the looks Puck and Quinn gave each other were so cute. One word: Santana. Um, where the hell did she come from? "My sexts are so hot they can't be deleted." Anyone else find this super random? Also, I hate Rachel with a passion, but I felt very bad for her when Finn turned her down. I loved when Rachel and Kurt exchanged that "I so know your pain look" at the end. However, the last son was unendingly lame. No gimicks? You've got dumb technicolor lights flashing behind them? It was nice to hear Tina sing more, but the song was unimpressive and, in my opinion, didn't tie together the themes of the episode, i.e. Keep Holding On. 8 Stars.

The Middle- Pretty boring Thanksgiving episode. I didn't pay much attention, but I did realize that the reason Frankie is so stressed all the time is her job! That dumb boss of hers works her to the bone, at a job she sucks at, and discriminates against her because she's a woman. All her problems would be solved if she just got a new job. What did she major in in college? What does she like to do? Hopefully these questions will be answered over the course of the series. 4 Stars.

Cougar Town- Julie invites everyone over for Thanksgiving dinner, and, of course, causes some mischief. Poor Travis' girlfriend. I don't really like weekly Julie making a fool of herself plotlines, but Grayson, Bobby, and Andy are always hilarious. I liked the reveal that both Grayson and Bobby have feelings for Julie, and she is completely unaware of it. Laurie and Ellie are hilarious too. Travis is definitely my favorite character though. I love that actor, and he is too freaking funny. I love every character on this show except for Julie... I don't hate her, but I don't like her that much. But this is turning into a series review. This episode was pretty good, despite some of the Julie moments. 7 Stars.

Modern Family- "Cameron breaks out his favorite clown costume to make Luke's birthday party a hit. However, a series of accidents causes the party to break into chaos and leads to an unfortunate injury." The moment that sticks out in my mind is when Mitchell is just trying to pump his gas and some jerk hits him with his car, and Cameron comes to his rescue. That was a great moment. Phil and Claire once again disagree on something, probably because he's dumb and she's stubborn and tight laced. I can't really remember what their kids were up to, or Jay and Gloria. I was too focused on Manny's plot line. That kid is a comedic genius. Every line of his is hilarious. "Manny Delgado is a man of action." He is absolutely my favorite character, and he's pretty much the only thing I remember from this episode. 7 Stars.

Thursday 11/26 and Friday 11/27
None of the shows I watch were new these two days, which is sad because these are my favorite nights of television. :(

Saturday 11/28
Merlin- "Rulers from the Five Kingdoms converge on Camelot for a peace conference , including King Olaf and his spoilt, over-protected daughter Vivian. King Alined is also present with his jester, the wizard Trickler, but he is a disruptive force who wants to cause discord between Olaf and Pendragon to gain the ultimate power for himself. To this end he gets Trickler to bewitch Vivian and Arthur so that they fall in love and incur the annoyance of Olaf, who challenges Arthur to a dual. This time it is down to Guinevere, rather than Merlin, to break the spell." This was a great episode. It was very funny and lighthearted. Merlin acted like an oaf, as per the usual, and Arthur berated him for it. I love their relationship. Merlin is just such a goofball, and Arthur won't let any of his antics go, unlike Gaius, who just laugh Merlin's screw ups off. The scene where Gwen kisses Arthur to break the spell was so great and made me so happy. Then they crushed all my happiness with the beautiful moment when Gwen faced the reality that their relationship was doomed. When I watched Merlin Season One, I had no idea how they were going to get Gwen and Arthur together. It wouldn't have made any sense to try to force them together. But they are just the perfect couple in Season Two and I want them to get together so badly! Unfortunately, this Saturday is the season finale. :( 9 Stars.

Well, there you have it. My first real tv review. What do you think?
Oh and if you are curious, I am watching Merlin Season Two online because I am in the USA and it is in the UK.
