Good and Bad
Oh my what a FREEZING day! I'm always wary of saying so here where so many of you live in several feet of snow for some of the year, but it was COLD. And it's supposed to be WARM. Everywhere I saw people shivering because the cheerful outlook of the morning made them bike to university in summer dresses without coats! And so on.
I dressed WARM. This was good, because my car battery died again. Which makes me think it was the alternator again, or some other strange weirdo-ness. I got it jump-started and drove home, and set out on my bicycle. It is a life-saver. Very aggravating on the car front though. So, I decided to put off any fixing up of the car until next payday. Man, it's so hard to get ahead! But I am picking off the bills one-by-one. My aim is to get to a neutral position by the time I finish my job and go overseas! It's ridiculous, because at the moment I'm getting paid okay, BUT, I've stacked up expenses that I put off before. It's a sad sad position. But I will triumph. I'm aggravated that I spent money on clothes (even supremely cheap clothes!) because I should have known that SOMETHING would come up. But that is okay. I wore my new dress today and it was AWESOME. Also I think it will be a good job interview outfit. So... some gain.
I'm tired and am in pajamas, and preparing. I am teaching "Triumph of the Will," "Sicko," and "Slumdog Millionaire" tomorrow - the title of that lecture is "Politics of Film." This progression makes perfect sense to me, hopefully it will come out okay into lecture form. I'm kind of excited about it.
