My friend Sophie and I are planning an outing in a week or two after the play is finished to go and swim with the dolphins. It's awesome because we've been talking about this for some years, and now we're forced into it because at the end of December she is going off on travels, through Taiwan and China to Mongolia and finally Russia. Dolphin swimming ftw! I went at Akaroa with the little Hector's dolphins a few years ago and it was BRILLIANT!

Ooh that's interesting because we're deciding atm whether to go to Akaroa (which is an hour away) or up to Kaikoura (which is three hours away) for the big adventure. I had in my mind that the Kaikoura ones would be awesome but that's because I saw them on a Whale Watch a couple of years back. They were SO beautiful.

I have a fear that the dolphins won't like me. Wouldn't that be a sad thing?

I have to say i lvoed Akaroa - i was in NZ for work, and decided to spend 3 days there at the end of my trip relaxing and it was wonderful. So pretty and lots of v. yummy food and wine!

Ooh, do you know what company you're going to go with? I'm thinking of doing something dolphin-related when Theo comes down to visit next year, so I will be eager to hear your feedback!

I'm VERY excited! I love to swim, and I love dolphins and it's going to be a bit bittersweet since SOphie will be leaving soon after that, but it's something we can do together that we will always remember. :D

Eeeee, dophins! That is such an awesome thing to do, I hope you have a wonderful time! I've never swum with dolphins, but I've had them follow a boat I was on, and they are SO CUTE with their smiley little faces! Full report and pictures please!

I went on a Whale Watch one time, and we saw heaps of whales which was awesome enough, but then a whole school or pod or whatever you call them collectively of dolphins came and basically danced around the boat, and dove under it and did the tail standing thing and flips and they were I think the most beautiful thing I ever saw!

I really just can't wait to swim with them.
