(no subject)
Sitting in Meeting for worship at the weekend, my mind strayed back to a discussion about spirit guides, and how we might know they're there. I smiled to myself, when I thought of the times that my spirit guide has let me know, by something unexpected, that she's around. I remembered the classic tale of Jung meeting with Freud, when Jung suddenly announced that a loud bang would convince his friend (yes they were friends in those days) of paranormal activity. A loud bang followed, coming from a cabinet in the room which Freud examined immediately - finding nothing to cause it.
No sooner had I recalled this, than the silence of Meeting was shattered by a loud recorded voice, explaining why bees are vital to the planet. The sound system had turned itself on.
Everyone jumped and laughed nervously, as someone lept up and switched the voice off.
She sat down again.
Two minutes later, the cabinet door crashed loudly open.
Oh, well, it was nearly the end of Meeting, anyway
