ack! While the Mac OS doesn't get bogged down by virus/spyware crap - it frequently gets bogged down by itself. I have a PC at home and only use brand-new Macs on campus and the Macs are beyond significantly slower and often run into problems (they are always out of order) such as problems with closing windows, force quitting, logging on and off, recognizing mouse clicks, copying files, etc. Don't get me wrong - they are gorgeous and easy to learn and aren't bothered by external problems like PCs, but they got enough internal problems to drive me up the wall. PCs for me thanks

I have to disagree x1000. My mac runs 1000 times faster than my PC or my Linux PC. I also run into more "frozen" applications, or internal run errors with windows... and in the time I've owned my mac, I've encountered it ZERO times. The force quit option comes up sometimes but WAY more rare than when I used CTR ALT DEL to bring up the quit programs window.

School computers are a really bad way to judge a computer. They are over used, abused, blah blah...

Windows = ew.
