I know a lot of folks are pisses off about this--
"the Pennsylvania House has voted in favor of amending the state constitution to ban gay marriage."
But did you know about this?
From proposed amendment, House Bill 2381 P.N. 3397:
"Only a marriage between one man and one woman shall be valid or recognized as a marriage in this Commonwealth, and neither the Commonwealth nor any of its political subdivisions shall create or recognize a legal status identical or substantially equivalent to that of marriage for unmarried individuals."
To put it in simple terms... The proposed amendment would prohibit state, local, and county governments from legally recognizing unions of same-sex or unmarried heterosexual couples.
Did that get your attention? If this becomes law you can kiss all civil unions goodbye in Pennsylvania.
Read the bill.. Go on. It's actually short and to the point
