Bruce from Tokerau beach
Sadly I found out this evening that my friend from the far north, Bruce, passed away last week (Wednesday 4 May).
He had told me about the 21st birthday party he was going to near Auckland. Well I hope he was enjoying himself. Thankfully my memories are sunny and warm as we got to catch up under the Norfolk Island pine trees a few weeks ago and had a lovely afternoon chat right next to the beach in the sunshine.
I'm really going to miss Bruce. He was a fun, welcoming, irreverent softly spoken man of Irish origin. He brightened up a visit to Tokerau Beach where he lived on and off in his old blue truck.
