A good relaxing and useful Xmas time was spent down in Palmy visiting musical friends who seem to move almost as often as me! This year I flew down and this was a really nice change. I would have had an awesome close view of the turquoise crater lake of Mt Ruapehu on the way south, if it wasn't for the condensated window of the old Q300 plane. I don't like Q300's. But the flight back yesterday on a noisy ATR72 was much better and had a nice intelligent kiwi chatting with me (so rare I find). Palmy airport is lovely and small. I even got to be checked in by a real person again! So much quicker and less fuss.
Xmas was hot and sunny and I borrowed a car and escaped to beach/sun club on 2 occasions. The latter being very successful as they had a lovely large fresh water pool to cool down in. Great bunch of club members met too.
I didn't quite manage my ~30 Unique Captures that I still need in Ingress. But we wandered around the city square and enjoyed introducing R to Japanese restaurant food and the walking game. A good few days. Now back in AKL for a bit of house sitting enroute to more up north after new year. All the best.
