Rant - Australia Telstra Pre-Paid SUX
You can't imagine the crap I have been through, just to get a Pre-paid mobile internet system that works in the more remote places i seem to be ending up.
I have now activated 3 SIMs in this country! yes, you have to 'activate' a new SIM cos the govt cowtoud to US pressure and they want details of everyone who has a commuincation device.
So after you have gone through that polava, then you have to try to put credit onto the SIM and actually get the blumin thing to work. The activation female can't tell the difference between a phone and a USB stick thingy on a computer.
I want to be able to make voice calls on my phone and use data on my USB stick. Easy you'd think. sigh
Is there any credit included on my USB stick? who knows. Cos even when I try to add credit it still shows a balance of $0. sigh
So I eneded up putting the credit on my phone. which is 50c to txt internation instead of the 15c on the Lebara SIM... but it uses Vodafone network which is only in the main towns... I'm at the beach, where only Telstra defile the skyline of the trees.
So I have bought 2 USB sticks, only going to activate one. Might try to return the Optus/Virgin One cos it will be no use to me at all. And in the meantime I'm spending loads of money on Global Gossip WI-Fi cos that's the only thing that is actually working.
I'm only in the country another 3 weeks!
