A depressing winter start

Nearly finished now
I have decided to make a photo blog etc of the project to do up (and then hopefully sell) this old house. This will be made much easier with the help of Skitch for Mac's. I will only use this one entry, so if you want to follow it, then click 'follow thread' or however to keep checking the Replies to this entry.
I don't have original starting photo's of all areas (they were too depressing and scary). But hopefully there will be progress shots. I must get a card reader to make this a little easier yet. (My camera died so I used another one with a USB cable)
Starting with the LOUNGE
I currently have the lounge and the hallway under-coated (hiding the old 80s semi-metallic wallpaper).
It has taken a long time to get to this point and I had to bring a colour consultant in to help get a suitable colour for the walls that would help sell the place.

Last Friday I painted the fireplace wall yellow as a topcoat... but I don't like it. It really isn't the right yellow to bring warmth to the room. So it is going to be repainted with the same colour, Kauri Cliffs, that I am painting the hallway (and just about everything else as it turns out).
Blogging or documenting is far more fun than actually redecorating!
