Aw, jeez, how have I not talked about Doctor Who yet?

+ I LOVE IT. I LOVE EVERYTHING. Eleven! Amy! New TARDIS! Fish custard!

(THE TARDIS IS A GIRL.

SHE HAS A SWIMMING POOL.

AND A LIBRARY.

THE SWIMMING POOL IS POSSIBLY IN THE LIBRARY.

IT MIGHT ALSO BE IN THE WARDROBE.)

+ I remember how everyone was freaking out a little about how young Matt Smith is, but honestly, I don't even notice, like, he's the Doctor, full stop. I think I fell in serious love with him about the moment he ran into that tree, but the line to baby!Amy: "Box falls out of sky; man falls out of box; man eats fish custard, and look at you. Just sittin' there," also basically did it? I love how his face is slightly ridiculous from some angles and then he turns or something and ffnnngggh. He's a different kind of trickster then Ten was. I get the feeling that Eleven, while charming as hell and much less intense than Ten, can seriously fuck up your shit. And he's just not as weighed down as Ten was, which means I already like him a lot better.

+ Amy! She's so great. Fierce in both senses of the word, and stubborn and curious, and just the tiniest bit INSANE. The whole "traveling with the Doctor will fuck up your life" thing is just not even an issue with her, because he TOTALLY ALREADY DID. Four therapists! Because she kept biting them. How do you not like her, I can't even fathom it.

+ I also REALLY REALLY love Amy's boyfriend and Amy's little village and all of Amy's extended village family, WHO ALL KNOW ABOUT THE DOCTOR, LOL.

+ I feel like the show finally has...something it was missing. Bad things happen, and scary things happen, but the human race isn't irredeemable, hearts heal, life goes on. Once upon a time, there was a little girl named Amelia Pond who grew up in a house with a bright blue door and she had an imaginary friend called the Raggedy Doctor who fixed the crack in her wall where the Bad Things were, and then he left.

And then he came back.

+ in bed above, we're fast asleep
while greater love lies further deep
this dream must end, this world must know
we all depend on the beast below

Nursery rhymes and fairy tales. We all depend on the beast below, and the beast below is love.

Like, are they really taking everything about this show I had misgivings about, and methodically fixing ALL OF THEM omg?

Also, APPARENTLY there has been some confusion over whether to call it Series Five, or Series One, or Series Thirty-Whatever, so Steven Moffat has taken to calling it Series Fnarg.

I REALLY LIKE SERIES FNARG SO FAR YOU GUYS.
