In the passenger seat of their sedan, Scully raises an eyebrow. "What?"
"It's Lake-"
"Have you swallowed rocks?"
"It's the name of the lake, Scully."
"The haunted lake."
"Yes."
"A haunted lake with an unpronounceable name."
"Yes."
"That's where we're going."
"Also known as Lake Chaubunagungamaug, Scully," he says cheerily, while she briefly considers chucking him out of the car and leaving him to fend for himself in the wilds of Massachusetts, "the name translates to 'fishing place at the boundaries', although I much prefer the alternate translation."
"...which is?"
"You fish on your side, I'll fish on my side, and nobody fishes in the middle."
"Ah."
He grins and bounces slightly up and down in his seat. Scully shakes her head, smiles.
"What?"
"You're a little kid, Mulder."
"I practiced that for hours, Scully!"
"I know you did, Mulder."
"Want me to--"
"Just drive, Mulder."
