Got Crono back and am now going through the Black Omen. Unfortunately missed out on Fiona's sidequest, which had necessitated I tell someone in the floating kingdom to plant a speed. Ah well.
Dragon Quest VII: Fragments of the Forgotten Past
I'm in Regenstein now, dealing with the town's problems, and have gotten another fragment.

At the Mysterious Vanishing Shrine. Sue is out of commission for the time. Typical of a JRPG to pull a stunt like that.
