About a year ago I bought a dvd player and had it for about a month. It worked fine up until a button was pushed on the remote that said Pscan/ normal. Once this happened the screen went completely blank. I called best buy and they said that it was gone because the button is for computer monitors and the dvd player was dead, but I could bring it in aslong as I had the reciept. Which of course I did not have, because if I did this story would not be typed as we speak. Anyway I ended up buying a new dvd player and it worked great for that whole year, and we were never bothered by the dreaded Pscan/normal button again. Until this evening, when I had inadvertantly pushed said button again. The screen once again goes blank, and I had resigned myself to the prospect of buying a new dvd player. But I remembered how I talked to the guy, saying how that makes no fucking sense to put a button on the remote that destroys the product. Was it there to destroy the dvd player in case the Feds were trying to watch my porn or something. So I went to the computer and did a google search and I found a fix. It was similar to the old konami code (up up down down left right left right B A select start) except for a dvd player. I tried it twice and realized that I got the order wrong. The third time it worked, and now the player has returned from the dead. Thank you interweb!
