Cigna lies like an effing rug.
Claims they pay out 70% on out of network claims. What they fail to tell you is that they take the average charge for service for the zipcode and pay out on that amount. Not on the amount of the claim that was submitted. With no mention of that on their website or in the materials I was provided, and no visibility into the calculation methodology. I called their customer service, and they seriously tried to claim that my employer had set things up that way.
The only thing I could do was to submit feedback on their website. I think it might be time for an EECB. Executive Email Carpet Bomb.
That and I am going to DeGette's town hall meeting tomorrow, so I will bring up this stinky little ploy. The Cigna CEO just claimed 22.7 million in a compensation bonus made up from nickel and diming me and millions of other people. Ludicrous and Obscene.
