this turtle life

I continue to meander about northern california, hoping for a home in Berkeley that includes walls for my stuff to nestle up to...But as it is, I still find myself toting about only the essentials in my little red car.

We had a full day of glorious sunshine yesterday in the Bay Area,(ah...spring,for a minute) and I took full advantage and went down to the ocean with a new book, by Wendell Berry, to take in the vitamine D (and possibly cancer causing effects, too) of the sun. I had a lovely time, and even built sand castles with two complete strangers, one a native San Franciscan, 28, and a VERY fresh transplant from Sacramento, 18. It was a grand time had by all, so like kids in a playground who will have a ball with each other despite being total strangers. And indeed I aquired some more freckles and felt nicely drained after my day at the beach.

My money muddle has eased its grip of terror, so I got to buy myself some snazzy boots, Citizenship Papers by Wendell Berry, and some yummy fabric to make some cute clothes out of.

I go back to work in about 10 days, and I can hardly believe it. But I know that it will feel good to have a regular day job again, to ease my persistant philosophical musings; as valuable as they have been, I could probably use the tmpering balance of a regular-ish schedule and other people's drama (pba-dum-STA!) to keep me occupied.

*I just have a side note to share here: As I'm typing merrily away at the Nomad Cafe in Berkeley, I happened to look up and smile (rather absently, mind you!) at the male half of a couple, and immediately, subsequently the female half moves in, pelvis first, to bestow a cute little hug and kiss upon her honey...!...Yes, spring is in the air, and all you attached females had better guard your cocks and balls with diligent reminders of your generous pussy, or watch out! a vixenous *single* chick's are gonna take him right out from under you! (Never mind I smile at EVERYONE when I'm meandering about!)*

I guess I'm gonna stick around the Bay area tonight so I can go play scrabble in Golden Gate Park tomorrow, but I will go back to Auburn (by) Sunday for Easter and my childhood best-friend's birthday. And on Tuesday I will drive my dad to the airport, as he is going to Brussels and Dornach for some spiritual enrichment.

Hey, the sun came back out. But it's still a bit blustery out there, but maybe it'll be a nice night for some adventure to arise in!
