First ever entry
I've had this LJ account for a long time and never bothered to use it. Now I have decided to give Live Journal a bash. We shall see how long this lasts! I don't really know how it works (using tags, embedding things, doing polls, etc) and I really haven't got the energy to read how so this is going to be, at least at first, just an account of the "this and that" of my life. Nothing too exciting! I think I should do it as I am trying to go back to university and I'd like to document what I get up to.
Tomorrow is my interview for my place at the university. It feels so weird going back through all this again when I have already done it once before. Weird, but exciting. I learned a lot about poetry last night and I found it so, so fascinating. I didn't really know much about meter before (other than iambic pentameter which we learned whilst studying Shakespeare in school) and what I learned last night was like a revelation. I loved it. I have been given "The Love Song of J Alfred Prufrock" (my favourite poem, incidentally) to read and make notes which I will leave with the professor that interviews me tomorrow. After learning more about meter, I am seeing this whole poem in a new way. It's really amazing and makes me quite excited about what I am going to be learning on this degree course!
