Dunno if you need to apologize, but I certainly know the feeling.

Some people have ruined my experiences of them after the fact by either becoming, or at least openly revealing their jerkdom after I liked them for a long while. I still *want* to like them and their work, but after the cat gets out of the bag, I feel bad about it.

In fact I'm afraid to go back to several old works to re-read, because I don't want to discover I just ignored the jerkdom at the time, making *me* part of the jerkdom.

Sometimes you can't win. Well, I guess when you cancel and support something else you win.

I find it pretty unbelievable that anyone would think you're a jerk. :)

Also thanks for being an advocate (for women/against misogyny). In general. Y'know, cuz that's super cool. And I don't think I've ever said thanks.

*runs off to check out garlicks*

Hear, Hear! You can apologize to me! And I accept your apology. Don't do it again. :D

I can understand why you feel unsettled, but remember that nobody does the right thing the first time all the time! I'm sometimes chagrined that I still make the same mistakes in my 40s that I did in my 20s. I recognize many of them, but often only after the fact.

Life is complicated.
