This eve our local theater showed Battlestar Galactica on the big screen and Katee (Starbuck) Sackhoff did a little Q&A with local dj's Cort & Fatboy
.
It was so packed that the moderators (Cort and Fatboy) made the line of questioners kneel. Everyone laughed a lot. The second person up for a question, Fatboy said "OK, you with the SLUT shirt." We couldn't see that she had a shirt that said SLUT. We thought it was just low cut and he was being rude - everyone laughed. SLUT is the name of the Seattle light rail.
Katee said people hated her in high school; "she was a 'see-you-next-tuesday.'" Took me a second to get the joke. Other funny moments;
The toy ship Edward James Olmos smashed was on loan from a museum.
She said she stole her flight suit.
She said that they could get away with a lot because it's science fiction; "when they broke a baby's neck no one flinched." Fatboy said "I flinched." Without a pause she said "well, you're a pussy."
One woman told Katee that she had made her switch from bisexual to gay.
Katee said that the work is weird because you're paid to make out with people. It's like you're a hooker; "a high class hooker but a hooker."
Katee apologized, a couple of times, for having had too much wine before the event.
I was glad that she'd had too much wine.
