I am settling into my new life, in the place that has become home in Rice, MN, quite nicely. The ease at which I've been able to be comfortable here is somewhat astonishing. Before flying down to look at houses in the St. Cloud area this past June, I had never even been anywhere in Minnesota outside the airport. Yet, when we checked out this house, I quickly began to feel that Minnesota (especially rural MN) is easygoing and hospitable. After only having been here for a few weeks steadily, I'm already developing a routine full of goodness- morning meditation, a flexible work schedule, good music at whatever volume I choose, homemade meals, running, and regular reading. Many factors have come together to make all this possible for which I am extremely grateful. And there's a lot to appreciate in my immediate surroundings- old oak trees, flower gardens, a nearby lake, this house with ample space for work and play...morning, afternoon, and evening.
