Old Media Death Watch

Nov 01, 2008 07:42

Here we go, the old world media decline that everyone feared in 1999 is now fast becoming a reality. The 100 year old Christian Science Monitor has decided to Become a Weekly and focus primarily on the web. Which newspaper is next? Will they even be missed? Craiglist is way better for classified ads, Ebay motors is better for buying used cars, and Google is better for finding just about anything.

During a street promotion yesterday someone tried to hand me a printed copy of the Wall Street Journal on my way to work, and I laughed. I was already planning on reading it when I go into the office, online. I used to take them a few years ago but it just created lots of clutter around the office.
