I've been a little quiet lately, but not unproductive. I've been tinkering on my drawings again; I have this extremely belated picture for hasfartogo that I just need to touch up the arm on, then go over in detailing for my redraw. I've done more screen tracings, as useless as they are. And I've attempted to use the boxlike peanut-people poses instead of the ovals more, with limited success. I still need to work on designing characters; even more faces would be nice as long as its of someone specific.
But the real thing I've spent all weekend working on has been my Virtual Worlds homework. I just learned how to program in Slag (with Plasmacore), and just finished a simple four-level game in it! My hit detection could be a bit better; as well as my software layout... but that being said, my homework for this week is complete, and I'm very happy to have a little mini video game to my name.
Besides that... not much is new. My younger brother is getting into soul calibur 4, but his favorite character is absolutely the worst matchup against my favorite character (his taki vs my xianghua) so... I need to learn someone else so we can practice more evenly.
I've gotten nowhere in the actual implementation of my own little video game project, other than to realize that I've been doing everything wrong... architecturally, even in defining new classes. Gah... but as usual I am not short of ideas, and since the game is possibly going to technically be in 2D, I suppose I don't need it to be perfect... but I'd rather make something that can be really polished. In code and in presentation.
Lastly, I'm tinkering on my campaign settings with agonizing slowness... but since I've started playing with some of my old D&D people via a voice chat some weeks, I've had some reason to pick up steam. Now if I can only get TeamSpeak to stop behaving so crappily...
