Graah... I should probably post here more. I'm trying to put something up once a week or so, around the weekend. ;)
So I'm bored to heck; I don't really know anyone in the area, and getting involved in the clubs here is awkward. I'm going to try and hang out around Bookmans' more during the week though, and hopefully that'll help. Otherwise I'm going to go stir-crazy.
Big changes in my personal schedule now. I'm quitting a part-time job I have to do an internship about 12-15 hours a week, and TAing a class in programming in Matlab and C++. I'm kind of leery about the whole affair, since I'm not exactly a great teacher of ~anything~, let alone first-year nonprogramming engineers. The drop in income is going to suck a little too; the week after next is going to be nuts though; I won't be quite out of the job, so I'll be juggling that and both scholastic responsibilities at once. I think I'm going to skip Aikido that week 'cept for Monday or something.
Been reading History's Strongest Disciple Kenichi for some odd reason. Been looking for new anime to watch; anyone have any suggestions? I can't just wait for the new FMA...
Besides that, my brother is getting great at C++ and SDL. I need to go through the tutorial he's taking; he's already got a lot of interesting stuff done on object movement and behavior to the point where you can almost make a game from it already. I'm lagging behind, but I got a lot of stuff to juggle. At the moment, I'm juggling school, work, RPGs online (for lack of any here), and aikido. I'd like to mash in programming and drawing in there too, since I'm leaving my part-time job for the internship/TAing. It's good I only have one class, I think. :)
I hadn't really drawn anything... what I think I'm going to have to do is "monkey" it to get some more sense of how I want to draw eyes, bodies, hair, etc. I have a few pages of male and female faces in different anime styles, and I have some actual photoreference/anatomy books too. But once I get the hang of it I might be able to do some better sketches... character design seems to elude me a lot; we'll see if I get to a point where I can picture what I want and draw it. And make it look like what I intended at the start.
I'm going to make it a project to draw some of the people from OtaQu from my old pictures for fun, kind of in the style another person did when he was visiting the old club. It'd be fun, I hope, and might help me with the 'character design'. ...Another thing on the 'list to do'.
OTOH, I have actually ~finished~ a project I set out to do. That's like a first for me, or something. Once it's online I'll link to it; I have a website half-finished for a coffee shop in Flag, but I have to finish the last four pages or so.
So I live on and ramble more.
