you know what's crazy? doctors prescribe methamphetamine to kids as young as 6 under the name Desoxyn. that's right, methamphetamine -- crystal meth, speed, possession of which can get you about 7 years in prison, or even life in prison if you make it yourself. but it's A-ok to give it to six year-olds for ADHD.
you know what else is crazy? christianity. ancient greeks thought that excessive emotionality, or hysteria, in women was caused by a displaced uterus and sexual discontent. that's a pretty logical guess, considering neuroscience wasn't discovered until a few thousand years later. then christians during the middle ages blamed women's mental problems on witchery, sexual hunger, moral weakness, and demonic possession.
