Just got back from Stratford. It was good to see my brother and his wife and two little daughters. It was a double date of sorts; Eric and his wife Julia got a babysitter to watch their two girls Claire and Lily, and we, the adults, went to the Globe to see The Tempest. It was an amazing performance, so happy that Eric was considerate enough to invite me. We went back to his house afterwards for dinner, and after that, Eric and I went into his study to go over his production. He wants to keep it as true to the original script as he can. Good. I don't care much for those "updated" Shakespeare plays. The only one I liked was Ian McKellen's version of Richard III taking place during WWII, although he and Maggie Smith were the only ones who knew what the hell they were doing in it. He also wants to do it uncut, not leave out any scenes. I don't think it'll be too bad. MSND isn't a terribly long play. Imagine if he was doing Hamlet uncut, good lord, the audience would be there for hours! Nothing out of the ordinary either. It isn't going to be taking place in Victorian times, or on the moon, and the characters won't be done up to look like garden plants. Like I said, he wants it to be the way he thought Shakespeare intended it to be. I told him to make sure Ronnie gets a really embarrassing role, or make his costume really stupid. But "he has to audition like everyone else". Damn.

I have nothing planned for tomorrow. Probably just going to church, and coming back here. I think Davy's going to come over in the afternoon. Which should be interesting, there's never a dull moment with Monkee-boy...

Until then, I need sleep. No shags tonight for Greggy!
