Shaking the work foundation

So at work, on Friday, when I was off duty, there was a mess up at my job. I write about mess ups, probably making the people (I am sure in the millions) feel that there are lots of mess ups. There are not, but the things done right are not often interesting or talked about.

Getting back on track, there was a failure in handling the procedures for Hazardous materials. It is unclear to me where the failure is but I gather it is not the officers who work in the security center (remember I work sort of like a police dispatcher, but in private security), but something else. The fault, past that it is not the officers fault, is moot.

The point is that the dispatch center (called command center) is the thing that two of my bigger bosses, and their boss, has sold to our company. And overall, it works ok. We definitely catch things, handle calls from all over, deal with all sorts of problems, and properly.
BUT we DON't catch everything. There are, no exaggeration at all, at least 300 things to have to know. I am not nescessarily talking about large amounts of information, but all are important information. The large chunks of information are, for example, what to do in a power outage.

So my two bigger bosses are, frankly, not really that good at understanding other people. They haven't really supported the command center in the ways that they should have, and they didn't understand that they should have. They basically let it lie out of their view and worried about other things that are parts of their jobs.

So now, this mess that occured Friday is putting heat on them. And being, basically, selfish people, they are realizing that the "heat" that is coming down on them can't be blamed on other people. So their nervous, and they should be. This is sort of shaking down the foundation of work. They are the type of people who been so good at avoiding blame, that everyone sort of thought of them as "bulletproof" compentency wise. This illusion is now being removed, in sort of an "emporers new clothes" sort of way.

My big concern, frankly, is that they will fire people as a attempt to look like they are being decisive. I don't really think that the people I work with realize this, and I don't think I can convince them if I tell them. They will think it's a little big of paranoia, but really, too many people have a overdeveloped view of human integrity.

Pardon for the poor writing above, I am a bit tired.

Aside from that , I have run for 6 days straight, and am scheduled to not run today. Not sure If I will or not. I can't run tomorrow, due to scheduling issues (I am working many hours) so it would be two days in a row. I want to have it be where I run 6 days, then get one day off. Probably I will run today if I can. I am very tired from lack of sleep, but, lightly snowy days (no real wind) such as today are enjoyable to run in and that could motivate me.
