Middle East bullshit
I've decided I had enough of the whole middle east bullshit and debate. Every time I turn around I hear about more death and destruction. Hisballah firing missiles at Israel, Israel indiscriminately firing back, seemingly caring little who they hit. Katyusha follows fighter plane follows Katyusha.
Where's the evil party in this all? Who can we label the culprit. Israel and us 'western nations' are quick to point the finger at Hisballah or the Hamas. Israel is a nation founded by the western world and we do well to protect her. Those loud-mouthed beardies can't be on the side of good... After all, they are not westerners.
I have a more pragmatic approach to this all; I think they're all evil.
It's not about who started what. You can blame Hisballah and the Hamas for abducting soldiers, but Israel has done exactly the same, abducting people from Palestinian grounds. At the same time Hamas and Hisballah continue to strike back just as indiscriminately as Israel is doing.
But with our focus on who is the bad guy we are forgetting one group: the innocent civilians that fall victim; Lebanese a bit more than the Israeli, but nonetheless... They didn't ask for all this bullshit. Yet there they are abandoning their homes or being a prisoner in them. It's them who pay the real price of this hen fight.
I don't think this conflict is ever going to end in this region. Whole families on either side have been affected by all of this and as long as there is memory of the atrocities that were committed there is always going to be cause for a fight. There is always going to be hatred in that place.
Having written this, I have wasted my last breath on this subject, but before I quit this post I'd like to state something, which I believe is something a lot of people feel similar about:
All of you, get your fucking act together and stop killing each other!
