The King lives to tell his story.

Today could have been truly awful, and at some points it certainly was, but it's all ok because Simba lives.

This morning, at 6:30, Katie came into my room crying, telling me we had to put my cat to sleep. He has been suffering from bladder infections, he had a serious one about two weeks ago, but he stayed in the kitty-hospital for 5 days, and came home recovered. Over the past few days, he was sick again, and sitting in the kitty litter box trying to pee. Can I just say - it was the saddest thing to watch him suffer. SO, my Mom said we should put him to sleep, because he is only suffering. Kelley, Katie, Tommy and me all piled into my bed with Simba at 7 am, and sad our goodbyes. The poor guy seemed to know he was going, and I swear, tears were falling from his eyes. My mom took him and came back telling us that they offer a surgery that she didnt think she was able to afford, but her boyfriend John is gonna help her out, so they can fix him for good! I am so happy that I am going to dedicate the rest of this update to the things I love about my cat Simba that I may have taken for granted.

- The way he curls up to the space heater as if he is sunbathing
- The way he waits for all the other cats to finish eating so he can enjoy the meal in peace.
- The way he jumps up and taps at my doorknob when he wants to come in and cuddle.
- The way he likes to sit on my lap as I sit in the bathroom after showering because he likes the steam from the heat.
- The way he licks my hand after he gets a little spastic and attacks. (haha)
- The way he eats olives (he loves them), he put his claw in it and brings it to his mouth like a human.
- The way he eats cheezits... I think it's cute
- The way his reflection in the mirror sometimes makes him look like he has The Phantom of the Opera mask on... weird, but true.
- The way he jumps onto and sleeps upon any paper or homework I am working on.
- The way he knows that by Simba we mean "King" so he thinks he can get away with acting pretentious.
- The way he has more personality and spunk that any other cat I know (and I know a lot of cats), that is what makes him the wonder that is Simba.
