Life has an interesting way of pulling the rug out from under you, usually when you least expect it.
So...
Friday I went to pay my rent and my landlady told me they are putting a house on our lot.
Naturally my stomach dropped to the level of my knees, because I figured we had to find a place to live.
Right now we're in a two bedroom, two bath mobile home, which isn't great, but it's ok.
We're living pretty much on top of each other and to be honest, sharing a bedroom with a 3 yo leaves a lot to be desired, and as long as we're being honest, we don't have the $ it takes to move.
Come to find out, the house is for us to move into.
They got this house for nothing, it is on the site of the new Target/Lowes shopping center (which is being built in town) and needs to be moved. They're putting in a foundation and putting the house on it, and we'll get to live there.
It's a 3 bedroom 1 bath ranch, but the plan is to finish the basement, and make it a family room and a bedroom, so there will technically be 4 or 5 bedrooms when all is said and done. Easily a room for everyone.
All of this has to be done within the next couple of months as they want it done before snow flies.
This past weekend was spent cleaning out the garage and loading an enormous box trailer (the kind you see attached to 18 wheelers?) which is parked in my dooryard as we speak.
The garage has to be moved in order to get the house in here... I'm taking lots and lots of pictures so we can see the progress!
Here's the thing... last year at about this time I said something which turned out to be sort of prophetic:
"By Christmas of next year I'd like to be in a house."
I guess maybe I ought to be a bit more specific when I place requests lol

Another thing I've always said was "I don't want to move from here, but I'd really like a house."
So I guess maybe someone in the Karma department decided to cut us a break.
I'm so excited I can barely contain myself, but at the same time I'm trying not to get my hopes up too much, in case it all falls through...
