I know I'm good with directions, but I didn't know how good until today.
Oleg and I went down to a region called Hayward to look at some apartments today. Him being in class and I having some time, I looked up some possible apartments just to get a head for the region.
Coming out of the BART station, we saw a number of townhouses & condominums. We decided to go see if they are rentals or purchase only, so we went around the block to find that no, there were no lease offices. So instead of backtracking, we decided to walk forward, and I led Oleg around a few turns to find us, surprisingly, at the gate of the first apartment on my list, the one that's the closest to the BART station. I had no idea where we were going.
But that was just once. A coincidence. On our way to finding the second apartment place, I saw a NOW LEASING sign from afar on a cross street. Although the cross street was not the street our second apartment place is supposedly on, we turned anyway, just to take a look. Lo and behold! It was the second place! Oleg was amazed. I was more so.
Unfortunately our luck ran out there and I couldn't find anywhere else, since they were too far away to walk by foot. We'll have to go through with a car next time.
