Lilies

Today something incredibly unexpected happened: I was in the studio theatre filming the finishing touches on my creative project when my mother came in. Happy...

We got into a fight yesterday, and she was heading back home this morning. We weren't going to see each other for at least another two weeks.

But she did something she's never done before. She waited in her car in the parking lot for an hour until school was over to come see me. We got out early today and I was taking that time to finish my work and didn't know she was looking for me. Once someone finally pointed her to where I really was, I was so surprised. She even brought me lilies and cookies. The fact that she brought me lilies made me even more happy. I'm very typical in the fact that I love any flowers. There's something about flowers that puts me at peace, I have dead flowers all over my room at home and my dorm room.

On the way back to my dorm room to drop my stuff off people kept passing us and saying to my mother, "Oh good! You found her!" She had been looking for me...

Well, I guess this whole story doesn't seem that much to anyone else, but this was coming from a person who has never apologized to me about anything and never ever in the entirety of my life willingly waited on me for more than five minutes without dire consequences, never looked for me without being angry once I was found. She's never brought me flowers just because, and never came or stayed in birmingham to surprise me and take me out so I wouldn't be sad anymore. Never.

After she took me out, I cried. I was so happy, I just cried. And smiled. And laughed. All at once...

And those were the sweetest tasting cookies and the sweetest smelling lilies I've ever come in contact with.

Sometimes a moment happens that makes going through all the pain, worth it.
