We Are Such Teenagers

I went out tonight! Yay!

Justin called and we ended up seeing Step Up at Security. It was so surprisingly good! And what's more, it takes place in Baltimore School for the Arts, downtown (only they changed it to Maryland School for the Arts, for some reason) but they used a lot of paintings from Carver (Center for arts and Technology, my school) in the background!. It was so weird, me and Justin pointing out all the artwork we've seen so many times. I saw one of Joe Etzine's, one of Abdi's (of course ;]), that one of the old guy (I think it was Leah Fassbender's) and some others! So surreal 0.o.
Also, the movie included a lot of good Baltimore scenery. They really presented the city realisticly. There was the Domino Sugar sign and the aquarium, as well as trashy back alleys, then higher-up, Bolton Hill-esque architecture seen around BSA and MICA. And even without all that background personal stuff, it was a pretty good story. You know, it was the typical Boy from the wrong side of the tracks meets Girl with classical taste, Girl needs dance partner, Boy just happens to have his own urban dancing flavor, yadda, yadda, Let's Give One For the Gipper and Do It For Johnny! but it had likeable characters, good music, neat dancing, and attractive leads. Again, Yay!
Afterwards I discovered that my friend, Lindsey, plus her mom and friend, Lauren, were all in the theater with us! I hadn't actually seen her in, oh, about three years, so it was really nice (we've known each other since first grade, and used to be very close). We talked about all the Carver artsiness and all her Mount de Sales, Catholic school girl drama (which I'm happy I narrowly avoided >.<). Good times ^_^
And Justin drove me both ways and we didn't get killed! \/\/00+ for not being another statistic! We are such teenagers!
