From Whatever
I don't think I've ever given or received quite so many hugs all in one day as I did, yesterday.
The graduation ceremony, Friday, and the show afterwards went really well, despite the heat and humidity, and lots of people liked my big self-portrait. All that was left for yesterday was saying goodbye.
I arrived around 8:20am and looked around for people I know. The weather seemed to reflect how everyone felt: bleak and on the verge of tears. Honestly, the entire setting of the commons was so depressing, it was almost comical.
I helped Molly with removing her big canvas from the stretchers, for a while, then we met Zac, Kiwi, and Jimmy at the breakfast table and tried to find something edible to munch on. There was much signing of pants, t-shirts, and address books, and Justin Beasley (another Carver - we ride the same bus, etc) lent me 7 bucks to get a Pre-College '06 t-shirt of my own. I went from room to room, hanging out and trying to help where I could, since it wasn't like I had to pack anything of my own. No one seemed to really care about whether or not girls were in guy's rooms or vice versa, anymore, since there were parents running around and everything, anyway, so I went to help Jimmy, too, who looked like a pirate, today :}. He said I could keep his Japanese Engrish shirt that I wore to prom (our costumes went off really well, by the way! It was truly hilarious, but Jimmy should never be a girl, again XD) and I told him he could keep my homemade Harry Potter one.
Jimmy and Zac's parents showed up, eventually, and started to help with their apartment. Meanwhile, Kiwi was having a massive blow-out with her mom, and the latter got up and left. Like, she got into her car and drove away. Kiwi says she's really bipolar but she's too proud to go see a doctor or get any medication, so she has these really weird mood swings(just the day before, at the show, she had been asking to pet my hair 0.o). I told Kiwi that she could come over to my house if she really had to, since we were all supposed to be gone by 2:00, but obviously it was most preferable for her mother or somebody to take her back home, so she went searching for her mom in all of the parking lots and tried calling her cell, which her mother wouldn't pick up. Jimmy's mom had somewhere to be last night, back home in North Carolina, but when she heard about the situation she felt the need to be responsible for her and called Kiwi's dad to make sure things would be okay. As bad as we all felt for the situation, we couldn't help but be a little greatful because it delayed Jimmy's departure. By then Zac had gone to catch his flight (and he left in quite an...interesting manner, but I don't really want to tell the masses...), so the rest of us just kind of milled around, leaning on each other. Sarah's mom was stuck in traffic, so she hung back, too. So SAD ;_;!
Anyway, so Kiwi's mom finally did come back, around one, and they left. She's coming back to Baltimore for Otakon, though, so hopefully we'll be able to meet for lunch, or something, in a couple of weeks!
Sarah left soon after that and I walked Jimmy to his parent's weighed-down car. I promised him we'd all see each other again. I know that people often say that, and rarely follow through, but I feel like over the past month I've made a real connection with some of these people and I don't think any of us really want for this to just be the end of it. Mom says we might be able to go to Charlottesville, Virginia for a weekend trip sometime before summer ends, and Jimmy's parents say that if we do, they might be able to meet us halfway :). So it's not over. As Jimmy said, it would be nice to be the sort of friends who are seperated by distance but actually do stuff together, sometimes, rather than the type who only occasionally email each other and leave comments on their Myspaces.

I'm kind of lonely and I'm looking forward to seeing some of you guys I've been having to neglect, lately. Cait, are things at home too hectic now for us to hang out?
