Inauguration yesterday. Didn't bother to wake up for it, even though Cal set up a humongous TV in front of Sproul just to attract us, hahaha....
Watched the end of it live :) Obama pwned the poet, hahaha...I still think poets shouldn't read their own poetry aloud and instead should enslave young acting students and direct their every breath and tone when reading their poetry aloud.
Anyhow...yesterday and today were the first days of classes at Cal. I have to say, my Undergrad Business Admin 10 professor scares the crap out of me. He was the first teacher I've had who actually came to class in a full suit....the others wore khakis and collared shirts, max. This guy was way beyond that. Full business professional, head set, and he doesn't even click his own slides. He has a GSI who just sits in the control room clicking slides and turning the lights on and off.
On another, more amusing note, I took a little effort in dressing myself yesterday and today and guess what! The business frats actually gave me flyers. -____- They target really heavily here at Cal.
My Japanese Culture and Lit prof was 30 minutes late for his first lecture. WAY TO GO. then he told us, "uh...as hypocritical as it seems right now, please do come to class on time~!"
The UGBA10 prof really made an impression on me. We will have 4 other profs for the other modules....
I feel like I'm being constantly judged and watched in that class. The prof likes asking students questions, and everyone was trying to show each other up, mostly with the effect of looking like a fool.
He asked about marketing electronically powered scooters[they look like Vespas] in America [these things come from China, brand is "Really Love"] and he wanted to know several of the factors we needed to consider.
One girl: "Well, we need to consider the infrastructure--whether or not there will be power sources for the scooters and if people could actually make them work in the states."
Prof: "Uh...well, the 'infrastructure' here would be OUTLETS. I think we have enough electricity here for that to not be a problem."
It's just kinda funny to hear people throw out the big words to impress him...his office hours are no doubt completely packed thanks to my 700 cutthroat classmates.
